Buck Taylor is an American actor who portrayed gunsmith-turned-deputy Newly O'Brien in 113 episodes of the television series Gunsmoke (1967–1975). He has also appeared in films such as Hell or High Water (2016) and Trading Paint (2019). In addition to acting, Taylor is a watercolor artist specializing in the American West and has created posters for various Texas rodeos. He resides on a ranch near Fort Worth, Texas, with his second wife. Taylor's artistic talents include painting portraits, notably of his Gunsmoke co-star James Arness.
