Brian Cox is a Scottish actor who won a Golden Globe Award for his role as Logan Roy in the HBO series Succession (2018-2023). He trained at the Dundee Repertory Theatre and became a founding member of the Royal Lyceum Theatre. Cox gained acclaim as a Shakespearean actor, particularly for his performance as King Lear with the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company. His film credits include notable roles in Troy (2004), The Bourne Identity (2002), and RED (2010). He received a Primetime Emmy Award for his portrayal of Hermann Göring in the television film Nuremberg (2001). Cox has also been honored with two Laurence Olivier Awards for Best Actor.
