Brenda Fricker is an Irish actress who won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in My Left Foot (1989). Over her six-decade career, she appeared in more than 30 films and television shows, including notable performances in The Field (1990), Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992), and A Time to Kill (1996). Fricker was also a regular cast member in the BBC drama Casualty. In 1990, she made history as the first Irish actress to receive an Oscar.
