Bobbito García is a freelance creative who directed the film Sneaks (2025). He gained prominence in the 1990s as part of the influential “Stretch and Bobbito” radio show on WKCR, which introduced many now-famous artists, including Nas and Biggie, to the world. García is recognized as a pioneer in sneaker journalism, having written the notable article “Confessions of a Sneaker Addict” in 1990 and authored the book Where’d You Get Those? NYC’s Sneaker Culture: 1960-1987 in 2003. Additionally, he hosted ESPN’s groundbreaking series “It’s The Shoes” in 2005. He also has a background as a professional basketball player in Puerto Rico and collaborated with Nike on a line of Air Force 1 sneakers.
