Birgitte Hjort Sørensen is a Danish actress who gained international recognition for her portrayal of journalist Katrine Fønsmark in the political drama series Borgen (2010–2022). She graduated from the Danish National School of Performing Arts in 2007 and initially made her mark in theatre, notably as Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago in Copenhagen and London's West End. In film, she played the artist Marie Krøyer in Marie Krøyer (Balladen om Marie Krøyer, 2012) and appeared in Pitch Perfect 2 (2015) and Automata (Autómata, 2014). Her television work includes roles in Vinyl (2016), Greyzone (2018), and Oxen (2023). Sørensen's stage presence and diverse roles have established her as a prominent figure in both Danish and international entertainment.
