Bernard Cribbins was an English character actor who gained fame for his role as Wilfred Mott in Doctor Who. His career began in the mid-1950s, and he became a familiar face in British cinema during the 1960s. Cribbins was also the voice behind the storytelling in the children's series The Wombles, which aired from 1973 to 1975. He performed regularly on the BBC show Jackanory from 1966 to 1991 and recorded several hit novelty songs in the early 1960s. His work includes a notable appearance in Patrick (2018).
