Benny Safdie is an American filmmaker who directed Uncut Gems (2019). He collaborated with his brother, Josh Safdie, on films such as Good Time (2017) and Heaven Knows What (2014), which have made significant impacts in contemporary independent cinema. In addition to directing, Benny acted in Licorice Pizza (2021) and Oppenheimer (2023). He co-created and starred in the Showtime series The Curse (2023). His performance in Good Time earned him a nomination for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Male.
