Beau Sia is a Tony Award-winning slam poet who appeared in the Broadway production of Def Poetry Jam (2003). He earned a BFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and began his performance career at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe. Sia is a two-time National Poetry Slam champion and has authored several books, including Well Played (2020) and The Undisputed Greatest Writer of All Time (2010). His film credits include Rachel Getting Married (2008), Hitch (2005), and The Manchurian Candidate (2004). Sia's poetry often addresses and challenges Asian American stereotypes. He won a Tony Award for his performance in Def Poetry Jam.
