Barry Humphries was an Australian comedian and character actor who created the alter ego Dame Edna Everage. He gained fame for his unique brand of dadaist and absurdist humor, which he presented in various films and stage productions. Notable works include The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012) and his satirical characters such as Sir Les Patterson and Barry McKenzie.
