Balaji Sakthivel is a Tamil director whose film Kaadhal was released in 2004 and significantly boosted his career. He began his journey in cinema as an assistant director to S. Shankar before making his directorial debut with Samurai in 2002. Following the success of Kaadhal, he directed Vazhakku Enn 18/9, which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil. His filmography includes titles such as Asuran (2019), Mahaan (2022), and Good Night (2023). Balaji Sakthivel is married to Dr. L.R.S. Kalanithi and they have two children.
