Ayub Khan-Din is a British writer and actor who wrote the award-winning film East Is East (1999). He adapted this film from his Olivier-nominated play of the same name, which premiered in 1996. Khan-Din also created the Channel 4 comedy-drama Ackley Bridge, which aired from 2017 to 2022. His acting credits include roles such as Sammy in Sammy and Rosie Get Laid (1987), Hanif Ruparell in Coronation Street (1992–1993), and Ravi Shah in London Bridge (1996). He later wrote the sequel West Is West (2010) and the Olivier Award-winning play Rafta, Rafta... in 2008. In addition, he appeared in Magic Mike's Last Dance (2023).
