Ari Savonen is a Finnish independent filmmaker who directed, wrote, and produced the horror fantasy film Backwood Madness (2025). He has contributed significantly to the Finnish independent film scene as a make-up artist, special effects artist, and actor. Savonen organized the Trash and Underground Film Festival and served as the former president of the Finnish Independent Movie Association (Findie Ry). His work includes the film Carnage (2024).
