Ann Gillis is an American actress who appeared in her debut film, Men in White, in 1934. She gained recognition for her role as Becky Thatcher in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1938) and starred as the title character in Little Orphan Annie (1938). Throughout her early career, she often portrayed spoiled characters, but her most memorable performance came when she delivered a powerful scene of hysteria in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. After leaving Hollywood in 1947, Gillis made sporadic television appearances and hosted a telecast of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer in 1959. Her final film role was in 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968).
