Amy Irving is an American actress and singer who made her feature film debut in Brian De Palma's Carrie (1976). She is the daughter of actors Jules Irving and Priscilla Pointer and began her Broadway career at age 13 in The Country Wife (1965–1966). Irving received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Yentl (1983) and won an Obie Award for her Off-Broadway performance in The Road to Mecca (1988). Her film credits include Traffic (2000), Deconstructing Harry (1997), and A Mouthful of Air (2021). In addition to her film work, she has appeared in several notable stage productions, including the original Broadway production of Broken Glass (1994).
