Alan Dale is a New Zealand actor who played Dr. John Forrest in The Young Doctors (1979-1982). He initially pursued a career in rugby before transitioning to acting at the age of 27. After gaining fame in Australia as Jim Robinson in Neighbours, a role he held for eight years, Dale faced challenges in finding work due to typecasting. His career took a turn when he moved to the United States in 2000, leading to roles in popular series such as The O.C. (as Caleb Nichol) and Ugly Betty (as Bradford Meade). He has also appeared in films like Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Dale will appear in The Assassin (2025).
