Adeel Akhtar is a British actor who portrayed the character Faisal in the film Four Lions. His comedic roles include Gupta in The Angelos Epithemiou Show and Maroush in The Dictator. Akhtar has also delivered notable dramatic performances, earning a BAFTA nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Wilson Wilson in the series Utopia. He played shopkeeper Ahmed in the BBC mini-series Capital and DS Ira King in River. In 2017, he received the BAFTA award for Lead Actor for his performance in Murdered by My Father, making history as the first non-white actor to win this award. Akhtar also appeared in Enola Holmes (2020) and its sequel, Enola Holmes 2 (2022).
