Yaz Canli is a Turkish-German writer-director-actor who began her career in Europe as an actor after completing a diploma in dramatic arts. She transitioned to writing and directing in 2016 with her short film 'Walt & Ich', which garnered attention at the Vancouver International Film Festival. Her second short film, 'Man In Hoodie', won the Audience Award at the New York City International Film Festival in 2020. Yaz's first feature, 'My Home Unknown', which she wrote, directed, and starred in, premiered at DWF '23 and received ten nominations, winning Best North American Feature at FeFF. She also earned a PANAVISION Award Nomination for Outstanding Feature for this film.
