Yance Ford is an American documentary filmmaker who received an Academy Award nomination for Best Documentary Feature for his work on Strong Island (2017). He graduated from Hamilton College in 1994 and began his career as a series producer at PBS, a role he held for a decade starting in 2002. In 2011, Ford was recognized as one of Filmmaker magazine's 25 New Faces of Independent Film and was awarded the Fledgling Fund Fellowship at MacDowell for the 2011–2012 period. He was also listed as #97 on The Root 100 in 2017, highlighting influential African Americans. Ford directed Power, which will be released in 2024.
