Robert Bathurst is an English actor who made his professional stage debut in 1983 with the role of Tim Allgood in Michael Frayn's Noises Off. He gained prominence in television with his performance as Mark Taylor in the BBC sitcom Joking Apart from 1991 to 1995, a role he considers his favorite. Bathurst portrayed David Marsden in the ITV comedy-drama Cold Feet from 1998 to 2003 and has appeared in various other productions, including The Pillars of the Earth in 2010 and Downton Abbey. His film credits include Munich - The Edge of War from 2021. Bathurst has also returned to theatre, performing in plays like The Three Sisters and Blithe Spirit.
