Richard Linklater is an American filmmaker who directed the coming-of-age drama Boyhood (2014). His filmography includes notable works such as the cult classic Slacker (1990), Dazed and Confused (1993), and the Before trilogy, which comprises Before Sunrise (1995), Before Sunset (2004), and Before Midnight (2013). Linklater also directed the music-themed comedy School of Rock (2003) and the adult animated films Waking Life (2001) and A Scanner Darkly (2006). He has received five Academy Award nominations and won a Golden Globe Award for directing Boyhood.
