Ricardo Montalban was a Mexican-American actor who played Khan Noonien Singh in both the original Star Trek series episode 'Space Seed' (1967) and the film Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982). His career spanned seven decades, beginning in 1943 and concluding in 2006, during which he worked in motion pictures, radio, television, and theatre. Montalban gained fame as Mr. Roarke in the television series Fantasy Island (1977-1984) and served as a spokesperson for Chrysler, notably promoting the 'soft Corinthian leather' in commercials. He received an Emmy Award in 1978 for his performance in the mini-series How the West Was Won and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Screen Actors Guild in 1993. He appeared in Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams (2002) and Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over (2003) as Grandfather Valentin.
