Pedro Armendáriz is a Mexican actor who starred as Kerim Bey in From Russia with Love (1963). He began his film career in 1935 and became a prominent figure in Mexican cinema, appearing in 42 Spanish-language films, including Maria Candelaria (1943) and La Perla (1947). Armendáriz made his American film debut in The Fugitive (1947) and went on to feature in over 80 international films, such as Fort Apache (1948), We Were Strangers (1949), and The Conqueror (1956). His health declined while filming From Russia with Love, leading to his tragic death at UCLA Medical Center after learning of his terminal illness.
