P. Balachandran was an Indian writer, playwright, scenarist, director, and actor who scripted the film Kammatti Paadam in 2016. He received the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award and Kerala Professional Nataka Award in 1989 for his play Paavam Usman. His directorial debut came with Ivan Megharoopan in 2012, and he appeared in notable films such as Trivandrum Lodge (2012), Minnal Murali (2021), and Charlie (2015). Balachandran also wrote scripts for films like Ulladakkam (1991) and Pavithram (1994).
