Nikki M. James is an American actress who won a Tony Award for her role as Nabulungi in The Book of Mormon. She made her Broadway debut in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and has appeared in notable productions such as Les Misérables, where she played Éponine, and The Wiz, where she took on the role of Dorothy. James has also performed at the Stratford Festival in productions like Romeo and Juliet and Caesar and Cleopatra alongside Christopher Plummer. In addition to her stage work, she will appear in Daredevil: Born Again. Her portrayal of Ida B. Wells in the musical Suffs earned her a Tony Award nomination.
