Nicola Coughlan is an Irish actress who portrayed Clare Devlin in the Channel 4 sitcom Derry Girls (2018). She played Penelope Featherington in the Netflix series Bridgerton, for which she received a Screen Actors Guild Awards nomination. Coughlan's performance as Maggie Donovan in Big Mood has earned her a nomination for a British Academy Television Award. In addition to her television work, she appeared in Barbie (2023) and will star in The Magic Faraway Tree (2026). Coughlan trained at the Oxford School of Drama and Birmingham School of Acting after completing her degree at the National University of Ireland, Galway.
