Murray Westgate is a Canadian actor who gained recognition for his role in the made-for-television movie Tyler (1978), for which he received an ACTRA Award in 1979. He began his career with Vancouver's Everyman Theatre, the first professional theatre company in the city, and later joined the CBC, becoming a prominent voice in radio dramas. His work included the long-running Sunday series Stage 44 and the Ford Television Theatre. Westgate also became well-known as the spokesman for Imperial Oil, featuring in commercials for 17 years, particularly during Hockey Night In Canada broadcasts. He appeared in The Kidnapping of the President (1980).
