Melissa Navia is an American actress who played helmsman Erica Ortegas in the television series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. She began her career in theater with performances in productions such as The Crucible, The Taming of the Shrew, and A Midsummer Night's Dream. Navia gained recognition for her role as Dawn in the 2013 sci-fi film The Paragon Cortex, which earned her the Best Actress award at the Wild Rose Independent Film Festival. In addition to her work on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, she has appeared in television series like Bull, New Amsterdam, Billions, and Dietland, as well as films such as The Perfect Match and The Girl Who Invented Kissing.
