Malcolm Barrett is an American actor who portrayed scientist and time traveler Rufus Carlin in the NBC series Timeless. He has appeared in various television shows, including a regular role on Fox's The Sketch Show and guest spots on The Sopranos and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Barrett was featured in the Academy Award-winning film The Hurt Locker and played Dr. Lem Hewitt in Better Off Ted. His film credits include a small role in Larry Crowne (2011) and he appeared in the 2016 movie War on Everyone. In addition to acting, Barrett is a spoken word artist and hip hop performer, and he is currently working on his debut album, The Backpacker's Guide to the Galaxy.
