Liu Ye is a Chinese actor who was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Golden Rooster Awards for his debut film, Postmen in the Mountains (1999). He gained significant recognition for his role as a young gay man in Lan Yu (2001), which earned him the Best Actor award at Taiwan’s Golden Horse Awards. Liu Ye has also received acclaim for his performances in The Foliage (2004) and Curse of the Golden Flower (2006). Notable collaborations include working with directors such as Zhang Yimou and Stanley Kwan. Liu Ye starred alongside Meryl Streep in the Hollywood film Dark Matter (2007).
