Liu Peiqi is a Chinese actor who starred in his debut film, Father and Son, in 1985. He began his acting training in 1979 at the Military Art School and joined the Military Drama Group in Xinjiang Province four years later. Liu gained recognition for his role in Days Without Leifeng, directed by Lei Xianhe, which earned him the Golden Rooster for Best Actor. His notable works include The Story of Qiu Ju (1992), Ermo (1994), and Together (2002), the latter of which won him the San Sebastián International Film Festival Award for Best Actor, making him the first Chinese actor to achieve this honor. Liu's recent project is Rising with the Wind (2023).
