Lalo Schifrin is an Argentine-American composer and conductor renowned for his influential film and television scores. His compositions blend jazz and Latin American styles with traditional orchestration, exemplified in works like the themes for Mission: Impossible (1966) and Mannix (1967), as well as scores for Cool Hand Luke (1967) and Bullitt (1968). Schifrin worked with Clint Eastwood on projects such as the Dirty Harry series and composed the Paramount Pictures fanfare used from 1976 to 2004. He received five Grammy Awards, six Academy Award nominations, and an Honorary Academy Award in 2019. Schifrin was involved in the score of Red Dragon (2002).
