Kieu Chinh is a Vietnamese-American actress who starred as Suyuan Woo in The Joy Luck Club (1993). She was a leading film star in South Vietnam during the 1960s and 1970s before immigrating to the United States in 1975. After settling in California, she resumed her acting career, beginning with a role in the TV show M*A*S*H. Chinh has appeared in numerous films and television series, including Hamburger Hill (1987), Gleaming the Cube (1988), and the TV movie The Children of An Lac (1980). She received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Vietnamese International Film Festival in 2003. She will appear in The Sympathizer (2024).
