Johannes Nussbaum made his film debut at the age of nine in Import Export (2007), directed by Ulrich Seidl. He began acting in the school theater at Mödling elementary school and later auditioned for the Viennese agency Eva Roth Casting, where he was selected from hundreds of children. Nussbaum has appeared in The Empress (2022).
