Joe Roberts was a vaudeville performer who gained prominence in the early 20th century as part of the act Roberts, Hays, and Roberts. He stood 6'3" tall, often portraying menacing characters alongside the smaller Buster Keaton in several films. Roberts collaborated closely with Keaton, appearing in notable works such as Three Ages and Our Hospitality, both released in 1923. He also featured in The Primitive Lover (1922) and had a role in the comedy The Misfit, which was released posthumously in 1924. His dedication to his craft was evident when he returned to filming after suffering a stroke during the production of Our Hospitality.
