Joan Pringle is an American actress who portrayed vice principal Sybil Buchanan in the television series The White Shadow. Her character was elevated to principal during the show's final season. Pringle's extensive television career includes appearances in notable series such as The Waltons, Kojak, and Friends, where she played Dr. Oberman in an episode. She starred as Ruth Marshall in the daytime drama Generations from 1989 to 1991. In film, she appeared in Tyler Perry's Daddy's Girls and The Lost City (2022). Pringle was married to actor Theodore Wilson until his death in 1991 and has since remarried to Vernon L. Bolling.
