After serving in the Navy during World War II, Noble trained at the Actors Studio in New York and appeared in the Broadway revival of Pygmalion, where he met his future wife. His film career began in the mid-1970s, with notable roles in Being There (1979) and 10 (1979), alongside appearances in TV soap operas like As the World Turns (1956).
