James Napier Robertson is a New Zealand filmmaker who made his feature film debut with I'm Not Harry Jenson in 2009. He began his career in acting before transitioning to writing and directing, creating several short films in his early twenties. His work on I'm Not Harry Jenson received critical acclaim, earning a nomination for Best Picture at the 2009 New Zealand Film Awards. He continued to explore themes of social disorientation and outsider characters in his next film, The Dark Horse (2014), which tells the story of bipolar chess player Genesis Potini. Robertson also acted in The Tribe (1999). He is represented by Anonymous Content in Los Angeles.
