Issey Ogata is a Japanese actor and comedian who starred as Ota in the film Yi Yi: A One and a Two (2000). He began his career in theater after graduating from Toyotama High School and gained recognition by winning a gold medal at the 'Birth of Comedians' audition. Ogata has appeared in various television shows, including Evil Grandmother and RinRinto. He has also portrayed significant characters in art-house cinema, such as the title role in Tony Takitani (2004) and Emperor Hirohito in The Sun (2005). His recent work includes a performance in The Imaginary (2023).
