Gerald Campion was an English actor who portrayed the character Billy Bunter in the 1950s television adaptation of Frank Richards' books, 'Billy Bunter of Greyfriars School.' He gained early recognition by winning a place at RADA at the age of 15 and made his film debut in the 1937 radio play 'Inspiration to a Poet.' Campion's career included numerous comedic roles, and he later appeared in 'The Comedy Man' (1964). After his acting career, he operated clubs and restaurants in Soho, notably Gerry's, which catered to a theatrical clientele. His significant role as Bunter was revisited in the BBC Radio 7 series 'Whatever Happened to ...?' Campion's legacy includes his memorable performances.
