Edwin Apps is a British actor who appeared in The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (1999). He gained prominence as a character actor on British television from 1953 to 1972 and worked as a writer for the BBC on 33 episodes of the comedy series All Gas and Gaiters (1966). After his early career was interrupted by national service, he completed his training at the Central School of Speech and Drama and returned to the stage and live television. Later in life, he moved to France, where he pursued painting, specializing in satirical artworks featuring bishops. In 2013, he released his autobiography, Pursued by Bishops - the Memoirs of Edwin Apps.
