Dorothy Loudon was an American actress and singer who won a Tony Award for Best Lead Actress in a Musical for her role as Miss Hannigan in Annie. She made her Broadway debut in 1962 with Nowhere to Go but Up, which garnered her a Theatre World Award despite its brief run. Loudon received additional acclaim with nominations for Tony Awards for her performances in The Fig Leaves Are Falling and Ballroom, and she was recognized with a Golden Globe nomination for her work on The Garry Moore Show. Her film credits include Garbo Talks (1984) and Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (1997). Loudon also starred in the television series Dorothy in 1979, portraying a former showgirl teaching at a girls' boarding school.
