David Alvarez is a Canadian actor who played Bernardo in Steven Spielberg's West Side Story (2021). He gained recognition as one of the original Billys in the Broadway production of Billy Elliot the Musical, where he became one of the youngest recipients of the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical. Alvarez trained as a dancer with the American Ballet Theatre and has also appeared in Étoile (2025).
