Cress Williams is an American actor who portrayed Jefferson Pierce/Black Lightning in the superhero series "Black Lightning" (2018-2021). He earned a Bachelor of Arts in theatre from the University of California, Los Angeles, and began his career in college productions, including Shakespeare's "Othello" in 1990. Williams has appeared in various television roles, such as Terrence "Scooter" Williams in "Living Single," Inspector Antwon Babcock in "Nash Bridges," and Mayor Lavon Hayes in "Hart of Dixie." His film credits include "In Your Eyes" (2014) and guest roles in shows like "Prison Break" and "Grey's Anatomy." Williams has also lent his voice to the character John Henry Irons in animated DC films.
