Christine Lagarde is a French politician and lawyer who served as the 11th Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund from 2011 to 2019. She has held significant positions in the French government, including Minister of the Economy, Finance and Industry, where she became the first woman to occupy that role in any G8 country. In addition to her political career, Lagarde appeared in the documentary film Inside Job (2010), which examines the financial crisis of 2007-2008. She was also the first female President of the European Central Bank, starting her term in 2019. Lagarde was ranked number two on Forbes' World's 100 Most Powerful Women list in both 2019 and 2020.
