Chris Miller is an American animator, director, and voice actor who directed Puss in Boots (2011), which earned him his first Academy Award nomination. He has contributed his voice to characters such as The Magic Mirror in the Shrek series and Kowalski the Penguin in the Madagascar films. Miller's directorial work includes Shrek the Third and he has also worked on Madagascar (2005), Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (2008), Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted (2012), and Penguins of Madagascar (2014). He studied animation at the California Institute of Arts. His notable achievements include directing Puss in Boots, a successful spin-off of the Shrek franchise.
