Carl Wilson was a musician and songwriter who co-founded the Beach Boys. He served as the lead guitarist and was the younger brother of fellow band members Brian and Dennis Wilson. Wilson took on the role of the band's musical director during live performances from 1965 until his passing in 1998. He played a significant part in shaping the band's sound and direction, particularly in the early 1970s. His role in the Beach Boys is highlighted in the film The Beach Boys (2024).
