Bowen Yang is an American actor and comedian who made history as the first featured player on Saturday Night Live to receive a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 2021. He joined the writing team of the show in 2018 and became an on-air cast member in its 45th season. Yang has appeared in various television series, including Girls5Eva, Ziwe, and The Other Two, and is a cast member of Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens. His film credits include roles in the LGBTQ romantic comedies Fire Island and Bros, both released in 2022. Yang has worked in animated films such as The Monkey King (2023) and The Tiger's Apprentice (2024). He co-hosts the podcast Las Culturistas with Matt Rogers.
