Billy Porter is an American actor and singer who won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of Lola in Kinky Boots (2013). He gained prominence on Broadway before transitioning to a successful solo career. Porter starred in the television series Pose, earning three Golden Globe nominations and winning the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 2019, making history as the first gay black man to achieve this honor. His film credits include Cinderella (2021) and Like a Boss (2020). In addition to his acting accolades, Porter won a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album in 2014 and received the Isabelle Stevenson Award for his humanitarian efforts.
