Barkhad Abdi is a Somali-American actor who made his film debut as the pirate Abduwali Muse in Captain Phillips (2013). His performance in this role garnered him a British Academy Film Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, along with nominations for an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Following this success, he appeared in Eye in the Sky (2015), Good Time (2017), The Pirates of Somalia (2017), and Blade Runner 2049 (2017). In addition to his film work, Abdi was a series regular in the second season of the Hulu series Castle Rock (2019) and had a recurring role in The Curse (2023). He starred in Agent Game (2022).
