Amanda Root is an English actress who starred in the 1995 BBC film adaptation of Jane Austen's Persuasion. She trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art and has appeared in various productions, including the British TV comedy All About Me (2004) as Miranda. Root also lent her voice to children's programming, notably voicing Sophie in The BFG. Her film credits include The Black Prince (2017).
